From where I stand, I see a country
Bound in prejudice and bias
Not ready to let go of;
We need to be free first
To free another;
The question is
Just how much
Can She
Wait?
Bound in prejudice and bias
Not ready to let go of;
We need to be free first
To free another;
The question is
Just how much
Can She
Wait?
P.S. This is my first attempt at a Nonnet, inspired by those written by some friends lately.

I wonder too... 'Freedom'... The wait...
Profound thoughts madamoiselle. Very profound...
"Who is man, to stay the hand
Of those even the God's can't better?
A hero yet, takes the bet
To break the evil's fetter!"
So... We wait for that hero to come... Little do we realize we have a hero lurking somewhere within us.
You try your hand at so many things... :) Bravo!
Peace.

Congratulations on your engagement. Happy times ahead.
Sameera,
Did u mean - not ready to let go off...
Thanks Kartz!Lovely lines you penned there,reminded me of the song "Hero" by Mariah Carey :)

Beautiful and profound. I must say, India has lots of patience..she's been waiting for a really long time now.
Oh yes! I will! I better... :) And haikus too..! Kuch to naya karna hai...
Heh heh heh... Those lines were from one of my earlier poems: The Oracle Speaks Glad you liked it... I have not heard that song you mentioned though... Will hunt for it...

I do not believe that infinite freedom is good. People need restrictions.

So much I could pull out of this! makes me really think!!
Love ya sis!
Ne
you really play with words
and u really made feel like a manque
sometimes skills miss sense and thats what mostly i lack
and the picture itself speaks a lot
its a kind of picture which u see once nad then again and agin everytime you close your eyes and ever time you have a thought added to it
that comes with a very deep meaning. With all that is happening around us, we really need to be wiser right?
This is your first sonnet attempt? well, I would say, once a writer, always a writer. well done Sameera.
btw, I really appreciate you dropping by at each and every entry of mine that you missed. you sure are a sweet and thoughtful lady- love you for that! *hugs*
Also, wishing you Eid Mubarak... :)
you made me miss india so much
i still dream me running in the streets of my small town thise familiar faces and endless races and every tree with my traces
Its a matter of perspective, i say. The hero isn't born, Sameera. He or she, is made.
Time and again, whenever the need arose, a hero did come to the aid of the downtrodden and meek. This would be because, among the downtrodden little souls, a soul of immense power, strength and character lay, waiting for the time when it would be summoned into existance by the condition and situation that it passed through.
:)
Beautiful nonnet
Beautiful template btw, Sameera

the question is, just how free are we ?
Now that's some piece of craft you've made of those lines!! Fantabulous, indeed!! :)
We need to be free first
to free another..
Just like I say, to have more we must first be more...
Honestly, I more than loved the reality in your nonet!!
Anyways, see you when I see you... :)
Brilliant Sameera!
Everyone thinks they can 'Let go' but its not that easy. Often its misunderstood.
Ur nonnet spoke abt it well...we hv to free ourselves first in order to free the world.

Inspiring words Sameera.The widespread injustice and prejudice is indeed an agonizing sad situation.
awesome sweetie..soowwy m so late..wasnt around 4 sometime..but now m back n hope to see u posting more stuff soon..muaaaahie :)))
The poem is definitely about India. India is at the crossroad of its existence. Together with China, Japan, the Koreas and other Asian countries, Asia is about to established the new world economic order. The high and the mighty America and the European Union have crumbled to the ground, victims of their own greed for power and money. But India has to change. She has to reemerge in her own pristine identity, one that has been the flowering of civilization since ancient times. Thanks for the great poem. God bless you always.
you've been awarded :)

The dividing walls that we, the mankind, have built up make us more unhappy. Before proceeding on any forward journey, we must destroy the walls of hate and prejudices.
