Through The Looking Glass

From where I stand, I see a country
Bound in prejudice and bias
Not ready to let go of;
We need to be free first
To free another;
The question is
Just how much
Can She
Wait?

P.S. This is my first attempt at a Nonnet, inspired by those written by some friends lately.

I wonder too... 'Freedom'... The wait...

Profound thoughts madamoiselle. Very profound...

"Who is man, to stay the hand
Of those even the God's can't better?
A hero yet, takes the bet
To break the evil's fetter!"

So... We wait for that hero to come... Little do we realize we have a hero lurking somewhere within us.

You try your hand at so many things... :) Bravo!

Peace.

Congratulations on your engagement. Happy times ahead.

RiverSoul said...

Its a matter of perspective, i say. The hero isn't born, Sameera. He or she, is made.
Time and again, whenever the need arose, a hero did come to the aid of the downtrodden and meek. This would be because, among the downtrodden little souls, a soul of immense power, strength and character lay, waiting for the time when it would be summoned into existance by the condition and situation that it passed through.
:)
Beautiful nonnet

The poem is definitely about India. India is at the crossroad of its existence. Together with China, Japan, the Koreas and other Asian countries, Asia is about to established the new world economic order. The high and the mighty America and the European Union have crumbled to the ground, victims of their own greed for power and money. But India has to change. She has to reemerge in her own pristine identity, one that has been the flowering of civilization since ancient times. Thanks for the great poem. God bless you always.
